the time has come…

I have tried to be very careful about what I say in this space to protect the privacy of Baby J as well as K and her family. As you can imagine, it is often difficult to differentiate between my own personal story — which I’ve shared here — and Baby J’s story, or K’s. Nowhere is that more evident than with the birth story.

So I’ve finally decided password protect select posts to do a better job of protecting the privacy of others. I may go back and protect some old posts, especially those with photos.

If you would like the password, please leave a comment on this post. If I “know” you — because you either have a blog or have commented here before — I’ll email you the password. If I don’t know you, then please just tell me briefly who you are. No need to name names, my lurker friends, just tell me a sentence about yourself and that you are reading along.

Many thanks for following this journey…

  71. Pretty please. I’m catching up on Reader tonight. I kept seeing this post every time I opened it and finally can sit down to say, “me, me, meeeeeeeeeeee.”

  72. Hi, My name is Chris, and you don’t know me. I stumbled on your blog once many months ago and in one afternoon sat and read it top to bottom so fascinated by your story. You write so well and it was just–compelling. I’ve been checking in faithfully since that day to read updates, and to see those beautiful baby pictures. I know I’ve thought of commenting a few times, I’ know I did comment when baby J arrived, I’m not sure if I used this address or the same @live.com as I use them both with equal frequency. I can completely understand if you don’t want to share your password, but I’m going to ask anyway, because after all the worst thing you can do is say no, right? And I truly have enjoyed reading your story, seeing your beautifuly baby girl and your wonderful writing style. I’m a lurker, I don’t write–I try writing my own blog and stumble, after half an entry, but I’m a huge reader and I truly would love to read the birth story if I may.

    Thank you.

  73. I’m a little behind on my blog reading, but I’d love to be able to read your birth story 🙂

  74. I’m just catching up. I would like the password if you would like to share it with me. hope548 at gmail dot com.

  76. I’m a little behind on my blog reading, but would be honoured if you would email me the password, luna.

  77. 76 responses? You have a lot of readers!

add me to the list please.

  78. Hi Luna

I’m, admittedly, a lurker– but a safe one. I’m still in the midst of infertility hell. My story is a bit unique in that I got pregnant the first time I tried 2.5 years ago, but terminated the pregnancy at 20 weeks due to a severe heart defect. I have not been able to stay pregnant, and barely have been able to get pregnant, since. I’ve been following your blog for over a year and much of it resonates deeply. It also provides sorely needed hope. I would love the password! Thanks…

  79. I’d like the password. Sorry I’m late. Moving messed up my blog reading time. Then last night I couldn’t access your blog. Dang computer.

  80. I’d love to be added to the list! babyattheend(at)gmail(dot)com

  81. hey! i’ve been absent from your blog for awhile and am trying to catch up — funny how a newborn will do that to you! i would love the password so i can continue along in your story:)

  82. Hi Luna,

I haven’t followed your blog before, but got the link from BestLight Lori. May I have your password so that I can catch up on your story?

  83. Hi there! I’m a longtime reader and a new mom to twin boys, born 12 weeks too early but hanging in there.

  84. I know I’m late, I’m REALLY behind in my bloglines but I would love to have the password to follow along. I’m not sure how I found you but I have been following since before you found K to be your birth mother and would love to continue.

  85. Hi I would love to be able to read more about your journey to becoming adoptive parents

  86. Oh my goodness, I’m so far behind in reading! … password? : )

  87. Hi there, I’m Erin and I would love to be able to read the password protected posts. I am just starting out on our domestic newborn adoption journey and am very inspired by your blog. I have a blog too (need to post more) but will list it below. Thanks

  88. Hello, Luna. My name is Kathy and I came upon your blog tonight at Adoptive Families magazine’s website. I live in Chicago w/ my husband of nine years. We are infertile and are expecting our first baby December 8 by way of open adoption. I would very much like to read about J’s birth story. All blesssings to you and your family—-including, of course, K and hers. Best wishes and thanks for three hours of hope!

  89. I’ve just found your blog and would love the password–my blog is at susiebook.wordpress.com, and my email is sussan.b.antimony (at) gmail (dot) com. Oh, and very belated congratulations!

  90. I already emailed you asking for the password. I too write extensively….it is therapy for me. Sometime, I will share my daugher’s pain and her feelings about open adoption. They are mostly positive. She needs and enjoys experiencing herself reflected in her bio mom! My daughter looks like her bio mom; she is petite, with great big expressive hazel eyes and a million dollar smile. That recognition is crucial to her development, but the abandonment in real, deep and heartfelt. Yes, the reasons for the adoption were compelling and just and while we 12 years later continue CELEBRATE her life as a BLESSING, at her core our intelligent/perceptive daughter understands she was abandoned. She IS working through these feelings and emerging as a confident and poised young woman, but it is painful to watch.

  91. Hi there
I have suffered pprom as well and I am coming up to the anniversary of the loss of my little girl Madison. I thoroughly enjoy reading your eloquent postings, you really should publish them in a book. You have a lovely writing style. So raw, so honest! If you would like to share your password that would be great, if not I do understand the need for baby j and Ks privacy and I will keep lurking nonetheless. Please keep writing your blog u are an inspiration.
    Rachel x

  92. Hi

I started reading your blog a couple of weeks ago. I am getting ready to go to my first IF appointment and reading blogs like your have been real, yet uplifting. I would love the password to continue reading yours, M’s, K’s, and Baby’s story.

And thank you for being so open, if nothing else, I beleive this blog has been some comfort to women across the country, including me!

  93. I am trying to figure out when I found your blog because I feel like I’ve been reading it for the longest time, but then I’m clicking back and realize I can’t have been here all that long because these posts are not all that long ago… anyway, that’s a long way of saying I’d love to have the password if you’re still giving it out, and if you’re not, I totally understand (no pressure!)

  94. I recently was linked to your blog. I’d love to read some of the protected posts if you would not mind. My husband and I are starting IVF and considering adoption.

  95. I found your website through http://www.glowinthewoods.com. My husband and I just had our first anniversary of losing our son at 24 weeks. We are 37 & have been struggling with infertility for 7 + years. So much of your story resonates & I’m so grateful to you for your blog – it has brought me comfort & inspiration. We are now at the crossroads of going back to IVF and/or adoption. If you are still giving the password, I’d live to continue reading about your story.
